Press Release: Eastern Michigan Faculty Union Reaches Tentative Agreement with EMU Administration

Ypsilanti, Mich., August 17, 2012 – The EMU-AAUP (the Eastern Michigan Chapter of the American Association of University Professors) has reached a tentative agreement with the university’s administration on a new three-year contract. The EMU-AAUP is the bargaining agent for the full-time tenure track faculty at Eastern Michigan University. The existing contact expires at the end of the month, and the new contract will run through August 31, 2015.

The contract includes raises of 2% per year for each year of the contract, as well as changes in health care payments.  The contract also includes additional support and incentives for faculty research.

We Have Reached a Tentative Contract Agreement With EMU

Dear EMU Faculty:

 

We have reached a tentative agreement with the university on a new contract.  This is a monumental event.  We have never before finished contract negotiations before August 31st; this is also the first time this has been accomplished with out a lot of angst between the negotiating teams Below are some of the highlights:
